One such renowned spell in the gaming world is the Zettaflare. 

What is Zettaflare? 

Zettaflare is a powerful and disruptive spell capable of wiping the existence of the being at whom it aims! Arguably it is the most dangerous spell in the gaming universe presently, and only the character of Donald Duck from the well-known game ‘Kingdom Hearts III’ can use it! This unique ability of Donald Duck has gained the character even more reverence from his fans all around the world!

When was Zettaflare first used?

You will find many websites on the internet trying to explain the incident that led to the use of Zettaflare, and there are quite a few versions of it. One source says that Donald, for the first time, conjured up the spell by accident while studying magic. He was not aware of the energy that was building up in him due to his frustration. This phenomenon led him to cast a spell on himself, and its power left him severely injured. He was hospitalized and had to endure extreme pain. Since this incident, Donald’s friends tried to keep him from getting angry or irritated. 

According to another source, Donald Duck first used this spell in the ‘Final Fantasy series while preparing for an attack on Terranort. While he went on to take his stance, Goofy warned him, but Donald pointed his staff towards Terranort and cast the Zettaflare on him. Terranort was immediately wiped from existence, and Donald was left half-dead as an effect. 

How powerful is the Spell?

There is no existence of another spell in the gaming universe that is quite as powerful and deadly as the Zettaflare. In the ‘Final Fantasy’ series, there are three types of spells: Ultima (the strongest), Holy (confined to white magic), and Flare- the most powerful spell in black magic. There are various levels of this flare spell- starting from ‘deca’ at the lowest rank to ‘zetta’ at the top! The Zettaflare supposedly holds the same power and intensity as one thousand million Gigaflares, making it the deadliest spell ever to exist. It is considered to be even more powerful than Ultima. After casting this spell, Donald Duck became the most powerful character in the ‘Final Fantasy’ universe.

Why Donald possesses this ability? 

There is no clear-cut and straightforward answer to why Donald was given such a high honour of being able to cast the Zettaflare. But from speculation, it seems, Donald’s short-tempered, overprotective, and self-sacrificing nature earned him this distinction.
