But then she found herself in the scandal of cheating in games – which by the way, is one of the greatest dishonours in the online gaming community. To be called a ‘cheater’ is as bad as being cheated, either in a gaming world or in general. But when it comes to Twitch, the cases are more severe, which might end up the accused ‘cheater’ being banned from the platform. And of course, that is followed by fans, followers, and non-followers, and every other person in the gaming community giving a hard time by blocking, trolling, accusing, and what-not!
Did MissQGemini really cheat?
While banning a cheater on Twitch is seen to be the right action against unethical behaviour, being wrongly accused will ruin a gamer’s career or even affect their reputation to a great extent.
When MissQGemini on Twitch was accused of cheating on CS: GO, multiplayer team-based action gameplay, she outright denied the accusation. She used the controversies, and harsh realities female gamers face in the gaming community to defend herself in the process. It leads to her mentioning how it is unfair that she was accused of cheating as the gaming community can hardly believe a girl can have gaming skills.
However, MissQGemini on Twitch was almost caught red-handed cheating while streaming, which she so smartly tried to cover up as a glitch, and even tried to put the blame on her friend, Clara, who, too, was caught cheating and got banned on Twitch. Her followers would later say that her desperate attempts at covering up resulted in lame excuses, and she ended up signing off from account missqgemini- Twitch and the platform.
Was MissQGemini’s Twitch account banned?
To many of the gamers’ disappointment, MissQGemini’s Twitch account didn’t get banned. However, a massive backlash leads MissQGemini Twitch account to be closed and never again used for streaming, as of yet.
Will the gaming community welcome back MissQgemini on Twitch, either as the old personality or the new?
Cheating in online multiplayer is not something that professional gamers are eager to shrug off, especially when most of them are always looking down even upon ‘camping’, mentioning how it is not a strategy. Gamers cheat when they are stuck on the game when they want to play God, sometimes when they are just bored with the game or just want to be a troll. All of which- is disrespectful for all professional gamers, developers out there.
But there’s nothing that time cannot improve. Suppose MissQGemini on Twitch is genuinely looking forward to her gaming career and understands the gaming community’s emotions. In that case, all she has to do is come up with a genuine apology. The gaming community has seen messed up cases before, cheating has been done before, and so have apologies been accepted.
